Sweet and Sour Chicken Strips


1 egg mixed with 1 ½ c. cold water
1 c. flour
1/2 c. corn starch
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper


1 c sugar mixed with 2 tbs. corn starch
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. catsup
1 8 oz. crushed pineapple with juice
1 c. pineapple juice

Cook sauce ingredients until thick. Skin and cut chicken in ½” strips. Dip in flour then batter. Deep fry 2-3 min. Serve warm.

Haylee’s Note:
This can be served over rice with the sauce, as a main dish, or it can also be served with the sauce on the side to dip in for an appetizer. We really liked these! I would probably just half the recipe and use 2 chicken breasts next time. Enjoy!
