Broccoli Quiche
BROCCOLI QUICHE
Pie Crust:
1 1/4 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 c shortening
5 T water
Mix ingredients together, roll to round circle and form to pan. Bake at 450 for 8-12 minutes or until pastry is set and dry.
Egg mixture:
4 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c vitamin D milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
2 c. cheese (I used cheddar)
1/2 c chopped broccoli
Pour egg mixture into hot baked pastry shell. Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
Haylee's Note:
This is my variation of another recipe I found. The original uses nutmeg, cooked ham, green onions, and no broccoli. You could probably just decide what things you like in quiche, and add that to the base of the egg mixture. This is really good with some fresh fruit!! We loved it!
