German Pancakes

GERMAN PANCAKES

1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. flour
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 400. Put the butter in a glass pie plate to melt. (Or use a small casserole dish). Mix milk, flour, sugar, eggs, and salt in the blender. Pour the batter into the pie plate. Return to the oven and adjust the heat to 450. Bake 20 min then lower the heat to 350 and bake for 8-10 more minutes.

Topping:
3 apples sliced and peeled
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp butter

Toss the apples in the lemon juice. Melt the butter and combine all ingredient in a sauce pan. Simmer for 15 min.

Haylee’s Note:

This was a recipe that I got from my mom. I really liked it a lot. Another suggestion from my mom is to mix strawberries, sour cream and brown sugar. I will have to give that a try next time. We also made one with just strawberries and powdered sugar. We liked them both a lot!

This is one of my favorite meals of all time! Whenever we had a birthday growing up, my mom would always make our favorite breakfast, and I would ALWAYS request German Pancakes. I have got to try this with the fruit, sounds yummy!

I was raised on German pancakes. However, we make ours a little different. Try:

1/4 c butter
1 c milk
1 c flour
6 eggs
dash of salt
touch of vanilla

You will love it!
