Holiday Morning French Toast
HOLIDAY MORNING FRENCH TOAST
1 c. brown sugar
½ c melted butter
3 tsp. cinnamon
3 tart apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
½ c. craisins or raisins
1 loaf French bread (cut into 1 inch thick slices)
6 large eggs
1 ½ c. milk
1 tbs. vanilla
Combine sugar, butter, and 1 tsp cinnamon in a 13x9 inch baking pan. Add apples and cranberries. Toss to coat well. Spread apples evenly over bottom of baking dish. Arrange sliced bread on top. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and remaining 2 tsp. cinnamon until well blended. Pour mixture over bread, soaking bread completely. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours. Bake, covered with foil for 40 minutes in a 375 oven. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes. Remove from the oven, let stand for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
Haylee’s Note:
I got this recipe from Betsy Olsen in my ward. She made it for Relief Society Christmas breakfast and I loved it!
